Counselling and Support Services of S.D. & G. (Since 1938) is a multi service agency which has under its umbrella; Credit Counselling of Cornwall and several other programs listed below.  Please view our Organizational Chart for a better understanding of our Agency.  (Organizational Chart).

Family Violence Counselling
 
The program provides supportive counselling to women and their children who have been or are victims of violence in a relationship.
 
Counselling services are individual and are woman centered.
 
Violence can be:
"  physical
"  emotional
"  psychological
"  sexual
"  verbal
"  financial in nature
"  and, any other forms.
 
 
Counselling Services
 
The agency offers counselling for the purpose of alleviating problem situations and encouraging positive personal growth
 
The agency’s counselling services program offers:
" Individual Counselling
" Couple Counselling
" Family Counselling
" Adult Educational Workshops
" Teen Educational Workshops
" Children Educational Workshops
 
The counselling program assists individuals to deal with problems in four core areas:
" Major life transitions such as separation and divorce;
" Unexpected distress; such as job loss;
" Undetected mild to moderate mental health concerns, such as depression and anxiety;
" Violence and abuse.
 
 
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
 
The E.A.P. program offers counselling to employees and their dependents employed by organizations that have purchased counselling services from the Family Counselling Centre.

 
Creative Coping for Kids
 
Creative Coping for Kids is a ten (10) week group program to assist children who have witnessed woman abuse.  The program addresses the impact on children who have witnessed their mother being abused.
 
The group sessions’ goals are to focus on support and education for both children and their mothers.
 
 
Changing Direction
 
Changing Direction is an educational group program for partners who are physically, sexually and/or emotionally abusive towards their partners.
The goal of the group sessions is to help partners stop the abuse and teach respectful ways of relating to their partner.
 
 
Community Integration Services
 
Is a community support program committed to empowering adults with a developmental disability who are living in the community or preparing to live in the community.
 
Areas of Assistance may include:
Advocacy: empowering the individual to speak and act on his/her own behalf.
Case Management: Assisting to organize supports in a clear and purposeful way.
Networking: Within their own community and assisting the individual in accessing the necessary services.
Support Counselling: Assisting with various issues and challenges as determined by the individual.
